Merge Update - March 4, 2020

Email from Lori Tucker:

I hope everyone is getting excited for Merge weekend! I have outlined some information below that will be helpful for participants and parents. If you should have any questions, feel free to contact me, as I am trying to lessen the load on Josh.

* If you haven't paid the $25 sign up fee, please do so as soon as possible.

* Merge always has a ministry that we focus on for each year.  This year, it's Crossing All Borders in Angier.  They are a Christian ministry that provides resources for needy communities all over the world.  We will be taking up an offering on Saturday at Merge and want to encourage everyone to consider bringing money for that offering. They are also looking for donations of used clothing that fits teenagers and we will be collecting donations that day, as well.

Crossing All Borders is also our Saturday mission project, and we will be serving there in the afternoon.  We are in need of a few supplies for that day including: rakes, shovels, work gloves, and fabric cutting scissors.  (Be sure to put your name on anything that you send).

Items to bring:
> Sleeping bag, air mattress (not required), pillow, etc.
> Toiletries, towel, everything you need to be clean!
> Money for lunch for 2 meals ($15-20)
> Clothes to work in Saturday afternoon - we won't get too dirty, but we will be working in a warehouse environment
> Clothes for Sunday morning - something comfortable - and students will be encouraged to wear Merge t-shirts (they will be black)
> Bible, notebook, pen

* Students are to meet here at Fairview on Friday, March 13, at 6:00pm. We will have pizza for dinner before we heading into the 7:30 Merge session. On Sunday, March 15, students will bring all of their belongings to the church and store them in the Annex building. They can pick everything up after the service.

Here are the host homes for each group:
Middle School Girls - Ron and Sherry Ferrell
Middle School Guys - Miles and Audrey Beam

High School Girls - Josh and Tracey Benfield
High School Guys - Brian and Heather Beam

We are looking forward to this event and ask that you be in prayer for the weekend. This is such an opportunity to minister the youth in our area.
