One of the most frustrating things about church is the freedom that some people feel to take stabs at you and throw darts that they know will hurt. But, in their selfishness and sin, they don't seem to care about hurting others, only about having their voice heard.
The thing that I have come to realize, I'm a sinner just like them. I have probably said worse stuff about people in my head and even though I've never said it to their face, I still am guilty of the same thing.
I was reading in Ecclesiastes 7, starting in v. 21 - "Do not pay attention to every word people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you - for you know in your heart that many times you yourself have cursed others."
Ecclesiastes will do a number on your thinking sometimes, it's got some crazy good stuff in there and it will lead us to wisdom and a better understanding of God.
So, I hate the way adults handle themselves like children. I hate that people will trust church leaders with their souls but not with the money that they are supposed to be turning over to God. I hate that people will stir up gossip and dissension just to get their voices heard.
But, the Kingdom of God is more important. The message of Jesus will be heard above their noise. The Gospel will be spread and the sacrifice of Jesus will remain enough, despite all of this!
Thank be to Jesus, the author and perfector of OUR faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, scorned its shame and is now sitting at the right hand of Abba, Father!!!
That's all for now!
